1. No.1 Deansgate
No.1 Deansgate is Manchester’s most sought-after apartment block. Located on the north-western edge of the city centre this 14-storey glass tower was built in 2002 and has 88 high-quality apartments. It’s one of only a handful of apartment blocks located in the middle of Manchester’s retail area and is surrounded by some of the city’s best shops, bars and restaurants.
Harvey Nichols, M&S and Selfridges, the city’s three biggest and best stores are next door and Manchester’s famous Grade-II listed Royal Exchange Theatre is on the other side of Market Street. There are four apartment styles; studio and 1-bedroom apartments on the lower floors, 2-bed apartments on the middle floors and a number of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom penthouses on the top floors.

2. Century Buildings
Located on the western-edge of the city centre, Century Buildings is the second most-expensive apartment block in Manchester with 1-bedroom apartments ranging from £695 to £850pcm and 2-bedroom apartments priced from £1,150pcm to £1,500pcm. There are two separate sections to Century Buildings; a 1960s office conversion and a Grade-II listed Edwardian warehouse.
Both sections of the building have dual-aspect views with west-facing views of the River Irwell and east-facing views of St. Mary’s Parsonage, one of the few public parks in the city centre. The 1960s office conversion is the brighter and more contemporary building with full-height windows, large corner bedrooms and wide decked-balconies, whilst the Edwardian conversion is more quirky and is filled with original features from wooden-panelled walls to ornate plastered decorative ceilings and open fires. The river-facing apartments are the most popular because they offer rare west-facing water views and some of the widest glass-fronted balconies in Manchester.
Century Buildings is very well finished inside with expensive kitchens, marble work tops and solid wooden floors and the location is very central; you can walk to the boutique fashion shops on King Street in a couple of minutes and it’s next door to House of Fraser, Manchester’s most famous department store.

Leftbank is one of the largest apartment complexes in city centre and the only residential development in Spinningfields, Manchester’s central business district. Located on the western-fringes of the city centre, Spinningfields is the Canary Wharf of Manchester; a large modern mixed-use development with over 250,000sqft of office space spread across 6 acres of prime city centre land.
A number of landmark companies have relocated their offices to Spinningfields, so if you work at Deloitte, Halliwells Solicitors, HSBC, Grant Thornton or the Royal Bank of Scotland you’ll be able to leave your apartment and be at your desk in less than 5 minutes. Leftbank’s popularity with blue-chip companies and high-earning professionals has kept prices high and it’s now nearly impossible to find a 2-bedroom apartment for under £1,000pcm.
