Philip James is delighted to announce that the ongoing archaeological work at The Roof Gardens – One Ellesmere Street site has now finally been completed. The site has now been cleared ready for the building works to begin in the coming months.
With 60% of the homes now sold, The Roof Gardens – One Ellesmere Street is an exciting mix of townhouses and apartments. The developers DeTrafford Estates together with Manchester based architects, Ollier Smurthwaite have based the design theme on “city chic” living taking inspiration from some of the world’s trendiest city centres including New York, London & Amsterdam.

Building work is due to start in the coming months with the first phase of completions of the townhousesand apartments available from Q1 2015.
Since September the developer have been working closely with the University of Salford and Manchester City Council to preserve and record the rich archaeological heritage of the site; being the home of a mid-19th Century Brewery, later a brass foundry and to mid-19th Century workers’ housing of back-to-back formation, which have inspired the project’s unique composition. It is the developer’s intention to showcase the site’s history in respect of ‘The Old Brewery’ naming a Townhouse after its prior industrial use.
The development has already been short-listed for the prestigious 2013 Housing Design Awards and is in the process of becoming registered for the governments Help To Buy Equity Scheme which is available to all buyers, not just first-time-buyers. Under the scheme, you can secure one of the luxury new homes for just a 5% deposit. Interest has already been very strong with 60% of the development being pre-sold.
