Looking back on a brilliant year!

19/12/14

Philip James Wilson is celebrating another great year across each of the areas we operate in and this is certainly no different for Reddish area manager, Colette Fletcher.

Colette took over Philip James in Reddish in January and has had a very successful first year, “I have loved taking on the challenge,” she said, “These first 12 months have been very busy but very rewarding.”

What has 2014 had in store for you?

Philip James Wilson have been established in Reddish for many years and it was my job to get my name out there as Reddish’s only personal agent! Not only have we had a great number if instructions but we are selling record time, with many properties achieving a sale within 1 week! In fact, I am ending the year with over 50% of properties sold subject to contract! In addition, it is fantastic news that many of my clients are recommending me to other people. I have had some really lovely feedback from clients using our services all over the Reddish area.

What challenges have you faced this year?

Just that we need more properties to sell! I think that more people are starting to understand that having an office in the centre of Reddish is not what makes you good at selling properties. Making sure that the property is getting full internet and newspaper coverage is of course important. However, what I feel makes the difference is the personal relationship I have with both the buyers and sellers allowing me to match people to properties as soon as they go on the market. I have lots of buyers ready to go – we just need more properties to match them with!

How has the market been in Reddish this year?

The market has gone from strength to strength. We have noticed a real increase in prices throughout the year with some properties rising back to their ‘pre-recession’ prices of 2007! Nadine of Direct Mortgages now works in conjunction with Philip James and was pleased to confirm that she has also experiences an upturn in the mortgage market this year. She explains ‘The mortgage market has this year welcomed back more lenders at a higher ‘loan to value’ rate including many now offering 95% mortgages again!’

Any predictions for 2015?

I am already excited for next year! During 2014 we have gone from strength to strength – confidence in the market has really soared this year and I think this will continue into 2015. I believe the market will only get stronger and we will continue to see it grow throughout 2015!
